As you may know, Bob Lawson our employee and Race Director quit on Monday, April 29th voluntarily. He was a great asset to our business and getting the race program going as part of Hobbytown USA. But the Hobbytown Parking Lot racing will not end as we have two people willing to carry on the races and stick with the schedule published on this forum and at Hobbytown. We will not race however on Mothers Day. The next race scheduled will be May 26th.

At no time did we ever indicate to anyone that the racing at Hobbytown will cease. That is a function of our business and totally at our discretion wether to continue or not. In fact the day after the resignation, we were already planning for a replacement. Currently the track has been taken to Johnson City to piece it together and make necessary items that were not owned or provided by Hobbytown. We are also laying out the sections to test the race surface in Johnson City. A Trackmate system will be ordered along with 15 transponders, and racing will procede at both Asheville and Johnson City as advertised and planned for months.

We hope that you will continue to frequent the store and the track and look forward to a full season of races under the newly appointed race director and alternate.
